1, Development of High Square Plan Sifter 


In the early 19th century, the United States manufactured flat screen for the earliest appearance of high square sieve products, but also the current use of the prototype of the single bin sieve.

The uniqueness of this equipment is that the screening effect can be controlled by adjusting the number of cleaning blocks when the equipment is running.

1.2 The pickerel sieve


The pickerel sieve was invented by Europeans in the mid-19th century as an improved screening tool based on the flat sieve, the structure of which provided a prototype for the double-bin sieve that is now common. 


The invention of this device played an important role in the screening and classification of materials at that time, and also laid the foundation for later more efficient mechanical screening equipment. Its drive mechanism is set in the centre, with a bin of sieve compartments on each side, similar to the image of a flat stretcher, so it is called a stretcher sieve [1].


Compared with the flat screen, it has the following advantages: 


① sieve grid with brushes running on the circular track, can clean the screen, but also to promote the flow of sieve to the exit channel, do not need to set up a collection of sieve under the bottom of the plate grid, each bin sieve box sieve grid are equipped with a screen, so the flat sieve sieve area is large, saving space for the installation; 


② transmission device is set up in the middle of the two sieve bins, the balance of the iron and the sieve body running the moment of inertia, and the sieve body is on the same level, will not be in the middle of the screen, and will not be in the same level. The drive device is set in the middle of the two bins, the balance iron and the moment of inertia generated by the running of the sieve body are on the same level, and will not generate force couples on the main shaft; 


③ No sieve box is set up, and there are both inner and outer channels on the wooden sieve grids, and the sieve grids are fixed together with angles and round steel according to the combination of sieve paths, which is simple and light in structure.


1.3 Round test flat sieve


In the late 19th century, with the improvement of industrialisation, the United States flour industry is developing rapidly, the original flat sieve and the popular pick and carry sieve in Europe at that time has been unable to meet the needs of large-scale flour manufacturers. 


Americans according to the needs of the first developed a round test flat sieve, the sieve body structure and we now use the high square flat sieve similar. It consists of a round flat sieve and a centrifugal shaft, the centrifugal shaft drives the sieve to rotate at high speed. 


Through the size and density of the circular sieve holes, the required flour particles can be screened out quickly and efficiently. A transmission device with eccentric blocks is set up in the centre, and the transmission spindle is located on the floor of the equipment, and the ox-belt drive drives the spindle to rotate and provide power for the equipment.


The circular sieve has the following features compared with the pick-and-place sieve. 


① compact structure, occupies little space and has a large sieving area, the sieve adopts a transverse coupling method to connect a number of sieve bodies together, thus effectively improving the sieving area; 


② the sieve lattice is light in weight and highly interchangeable, easy to arrange the sieve road, the sieve lattice consists of a number of small units, and each unit is relatively lightweight and easy to install and replace. 


Therefore, in the construction, the screen road arrangement is very flexible, can be freely combined according to different needs. In addition, the high interchangeability of the screen grid can be adapted to the needs of different occasions.


1.4 High Square Plan Sifter 


Based on the advantages of the U.S. 4-compartment high square sieve, in the mid-to-late 20th century, with the gradual introduction of high square sieve into Europe, Switzerland, Buhler, GBS and other flour equipment manufacturers to carry out research and development to improve it, and gradually enrich the types of sieve silo, from the original four-compartment structure for the development of the four, six, eight compartments and even appeared in the ten-compartment high square flat sieve, which greatly increases the high square flat sieve sieving area, to adapt to the needs of the more large-scale flour mills. Demand. 


At the same time, the size of the screen compartments tends to be standardised, which makes the operation of the high square sifter more convenient and reliable. The high square sifter plays an important role in flour production, and its continuous upgrading and improvement provides more options and possibilities for flour producers.

2. Development of High Plan siftert in China


The start of high square flat sieve in China is relatively late, in the late 1950s, the domestic began to develop high square flat sieve. After 30 years of exploration, domestic experts gradually mastered the technical points and manufacturing process of high square flat sieve from flat sieve to picket sieve to wooden sieve box. After the reform and opening up, the domestic gradually introduced and absorbed foreign advanced high square flat sieve products, and on the basis of continuous optimisation and improvement. 


1995 the state formulated the high square flat sieve industry standard, which regulates the high square flat sieve technical requirements and performance indicators. The introduction of this standard not only promotes the healthy development of high square screen industry, but also makes the high square screen has become one of the landmark products of China's manufacturing industry.
